Amlodipine (as Besylate) 10.00 mg. Excipients q.s.                                                     
 
Therapeutic Action
Antihypertensive, Antianginous.

Indications
Amlodipine is indicated as a drug of choice for the treatment of high blood pressure and can be used as the sole agent to control blood pressure in most patients. Patients who have not been adequately controlled with a single antihypertensive agent may benefit from the addition of Amlodipine, which has been used in combination with thiazide diuretics, beta-adrenergic blocking agents, or angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors.
Amlodipine is indicated as the treatment of choice in myocardial ischemia, either due to fixed obstruction (stable angina) and / or vasospasm / vasoconstriction (Prinzmetal angina or variant) of the coronary vasculature. Amlodipine can be used when the patient's symptoms suggest a possible vasospastic / vasoconstrictor component, even if vasospasm has not been confirmed. Amlodipine can be used both as monotherapy and in combination with other anti-anginal drugs in patients refractory to nitrates and / or adequate doses of beta-blockers.
